We’re delighted to announce that we have scooped two prestigious design industry awards for the work we did during a major refurbishment project at The Mall retail complex, in Luton. We won two honours at industry bible Lux’s 2018 Designer Awards, which aim to recognise and celebrate the innovation, imagination and creative flair of agencies across the UK. Working alongside design partner Simon Inc., we were named the UK’s Best Printed Graphics Designer and also took home the award for the Most Innovative Commercial Signage Project.

We were tasked with printing and installing a new food avenue for the shopping centre, which has been open since 1972 and underwent a major redevelopment in 2006. The Mall had no zoned food spaces, and we were challenged to bring its Feast Street concept – a bright, welcoming space for visitors to enjoy food – to life.

This included creating a super-sized branded entrance, and three giant lighting rings down the central reservation, which were custom-built to provide illumination from the top and the bottom, and on both the inside and outside surfaces.

David Lister, our Sales Director, said: “This was a fantastic project to get involved with and we were delighted with the solution we were able to provide, which not only looks great but is also highly-innovative in the way it provides light to Feast Street at all times of day, making it a real focal point of the centre.

“We are naturally delighted to have won Best Printed Graphics and Most Innovative Commercial Signage. It’s always great to receive recognition for our work, particularly from our industry peers, as it validates our creativity and highlights what we can do to help make our clients’ big ideas a reality.”

Lux is published quarterly and covers all aspects of high-end lifestyle, including the finest, food and drink, hotels and resorts, health and beauty, automotive, jewellery, art and technology. It includes everything from product news and reviews, to in-depth news, features and comment.

Nathan Angell, Awards Coordinator, said: “These awards are not concerned with the size of the business, rather with the drive and dedication to their work and their clients.

“We have scoured the design market in search of the very best and are proud to showcase their success in this prestigious awards programme. Congratulations to the winners, I am truly proud of your success.”
